You can download a book I made about this!
By now its a bit old (about a year at the newest), but does serve as a good introduction to everything I'm doing here. None of the inofmation is exactly incorect now, more that I'vejust built a ton more on top of it. I've got a good foundation here.
WHAT IS ULI-ULLE?
I know this is the hot question… what am I doing here, what is this, why is everything covered in blood and rotting? Well there's a very reasonable explanation for that: you've entered my horrible world building project by the name of Ulī-Ulle!
Set in the far reaches of central Siberia (though often detouring throughout the continent), Ulī-Ulle surrounds one temple, and the god-like Beast buried beneath it. It's been slowly growing and rotting the continent for the past couple thousand years, slowly fed by its followers, growing steadily until its inevitable emergence. Most of my story-work covers the before of its emergence; the couple hundred years before the world is set to end.
There's not a beautifully hewn story lines for this project, as I am much stronger on the “concept” side of things. I like making characters, but their stories become very episodic. At its core, Ulī-Ulle is about an unnatural environments effects on people; how their bodies and minds bend or break under its influence, and how they try to develop beneath the cold glare of a careless Beast. It's survival, and survival is often boring and monotonous. My off-shoot story of 47 Ways to Skin a Man is an attempt to illustrate this idea: people surviving in unideal environments, very ill but making it through. I hope to one day make something out of that concept.
Anyways… a temple made of meat, something that needs to be fed, people who have been alive much too long, forests full of skin trees, rot, blood, filth… you'll get a lot of that here!
