DOROHEDORO

Ridiculous rhomp. Incredibly illustrated by Q. Hayasida, often meandering but always really fun.

Golden Kamuy

Similarly recomended in the vein of DHD. Historicla fiction, the backing and insparation for a lot of what I do when making characters.

Little Bird

Illustrated by the incredible Ian Bertram, written by DVP, beautiful in everyway.

Invintations From a Crab

Anything by Panpanya is great. Grounded explorations of a surreal world, diary-like.

Beast Complex

Loved the original Beastars manga as a kid, love Complex more now as I feel like it highlights the small intricacies of her worldbuilding.

SPA

Weird, hard to pin. Corrupted spa, breakdown of reaality and decency.

Prokaryote Season

More tender writing and illustraion by Leo Fox, queer juvinality.

Vermis

Changed the way I thought about storytelling. Not technically a comic, but that doesn't matter

Books

Honestly anything I've read I'm good to talk about. Explore more in my books section, these are just a few all-time favorites.

ANNIHILATION

Short first novel, gripping. Great character exploration, incredible and harrowing worldbuilding.

HOUSE OF LEAVES

Long, ridiculous, hard to put down. Pacing complemented by the insane formating of the book, creating suspense though the positioning of the words. An art peice beyond a novel.

A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE

Only on the 3ed(a storm of swords) book in the series but hookd. GRRM is an incredible writer, manages to develop so many unique and charming characters, and subvert all genera expectations. I love them dearly.

Sacred and Terrible air

The setting really does it for me in this book. A deep desire to know more about what is happening, the laws of nature and physics in this world. Really kept me reading.

My roommate is currently learning Estonian to read this in it's native language.

MUSIC

I love music. Use this as a jumping off point for the True Herp taste in music.

Other artists I like are: Everything Everything, Amigo the Devil, HMLTD, Pucifer, IAMX, Black Midi, Meshugga, Wheel, The Ocean. Any prog metal most prog rock, anything with jazz elements. Idfk I like music.
